Nishiki market is a super narrow, mostly crowded, old but full-of-charm street stretched nearly a kilometre near Kawarmachi Station. Its mainly for food and related. Here, many places requested photographs should not be taken. Its open between 10 and 6. Any foodies would consider this place is great. Am more than content enough viewing them and appreciating them from the distance let alone eating any of those stuff. Baby octopuses were put on display fried; I preferred to be just on the move there – sorry that’s just me. It was walk-able from the place we stayed via Shinkyogoku Shopping Street Union(another beautiful sheltered walk with full of shops with better breathing space).
A bit more posh Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Arcade is on the way which is neat with broad streets varying from local brands to the international with occasional restaurants. This street also has a roof, so even if its summer, its beautiful to the eyes but bit warm. Its a good 30 minutes to 1 hour spend and a must visit. Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine a small shrine right around the corner.
Later we picked some food from Daimaru mall’s food court at the basement, its well worth the visit; it has extreme number of mouth watering and equally good looking finger food to everyone. This is one another famous eating place there. Same place host some finest restaurants that cost 100s of dollars for a meal. I have seen numerous videos of them in youTube, their culinary skills are mouthwatering evening for a person who is nearly vegan.
