THAILAND TRIP :: THENMOZHI’s BIRTHDAY
A three month plan.
Came to life on 19th Jan. To count Thenmozhi’s birthday on Jan 21st.
Even though my bigmouth has leaked a little information about the trip, whereabouts were kept top secret.
On 19th at airport I announced that we are heading to Thailand.

Its carved to be beautiful. Tsunami wasn’t succeeded in erasing its rich seashores..
Thaidland’s notorious life style made me to think twice but its beauty didn’t allow me to look for other options.
Still I don’t prefer to take chances; so ended up in Sheraton beach resort, Krabi, Thailand. (One of its own kind).
I liked it at the first time when I googled. Resort lives upto whats shown in the website.
Thailand has many tourist destinations. Bankok, Phuket, Krabi are the priority list where the later two are beach destinations.
I ruled out Phuket. Where they sell the T-shirt “Good boys goto Heaven, Bad boys goto Phuket & Pattaya”. Hope you got it.
As I haven’t had a direct flight to Krabi on 19th Jan, I took a flight to Phuket and rented a car to drive to Krabi.
A caution: Thailand people do not know English. In no form.
On the drive from Phuket to Krabi the agent already told the driver to stop us in a 7/11 (a supermarket) to get us Thailand SIM.
He stopped.
I asked the 7/11 girl whether the new SIM has any balance or have to top-up, in a polite, slow, clear English.
She asked me, “Do you speak English”.
I bought the SIM and fleed. And the driver managed only a 20KMPH difference while driving.
Difference between 120-140 KMPH. Not a joke.
In 2 hours he got us to the resort.
Drive was suppose to be minimum 3 to 3.5 hours.
Thenmozhi took a comfortable nap, and was awake all the way.(started trip right after a night shift).
Resort came. A beautiful resort by all means. Good enough to say a beach village.
But all theirs. 4 restaurents, 4 different themes. It was the richest so for in my life.
Beach was beautiful in the evening and glowing with its Golden Orange rays.
I run away from sea water generally, but took a dip here for an hour..
After refreshment, had ‘till throat’ special dinner at the restaurant which served Indian style too.
A vegetarian + chicken eater won’t ask more than that.
Next day was a different package tour.
To the Phi Phi Isaland.
“The Beach” was shot here. I liked it because of the story and Leonardo De caprio. Place didn’t stayed in mind as it was long back.
Next time when you see Simbu’s “Chaanakya..Chaanakya” song rember, its the place.
From Krabi its around 2.5 hours of boat trip and 1 hour incase of speed boat. With 3 powerful engines, drive was too good.
Phi phi Islands are the combination of Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le islands. Both are very scenic ones.
Crystal clear emerald blue waters, Rich coral life, extra-ordinary marine life, these got much more to excite my kind of persons.
First stop was at Bamboo Island and first time snorekelling.
When I learned the usage, I had “Nat Geo” channel right under my eyes in the sea.
Later we saw Viking Caves (which is not anymore tourist accessible) where they say to have some ancient drawings.
So beautiful corals and clear powder sand and cute fishes. I knew they like Corals, but didn’t realize they live here.
After that the main stop was at Phi Phi Le with two snorkelling stops. They were like live aquariums.
I felt like I was swimming in a ultra giant aquarium.
We had some Thai lunch and they took us to few other snorekelling places. I enjoyed every moment.
But Thenmozhi preferred to be away from water.
Whole day in water, ride, snorekelling, blue lagoons and beautiful sea limestone cliffs gave a memorable day.
Totally exhausted came back to resort.
I didn’t even strength to keep myself awake till 12AM (thenmozhi’s birthday). As advised they delivered the cute small cake just before midnight.
I woke her up and wished with the cake; followed by Vijay’s, Dad’s calls. In half sleep she had a little piece. … … ..
Next day was the checkout day, so wokeup late and had breakfast. And in the noon checked out.
We had a citi (Krabi) tour. Better they should have told as Town tour. It was a town thats it.
But it was good to see their lifestyle. Nothing much different than India.
Somehow, they have much in similar. (need to read something on that.. 😉
In the ‘Town tour’, we visited a fish research and breed centre where we saw the same the day earlier. But in tanks. 😛
Shop visits!
He took us to a Tiger cave temple on a hill top. It was a very lite trek infact. Monks live here in a 3×7 feet micro mini houses. They feel thats enough.
And then we climbed down. Had a 2 hour shopping again. Then waited an hour at Krabi International bus stop. Sorry International airport.
With that a 3 day Thailand trip came to an end.
