Am no big fan of Bond series but watched them motsly. Even the older editions have something in them – even now. Be it the location or the technology the imagined – makes you to watch it without forwarding them.
When everybody claimed Pierce Brosnan is the best, I felt Daniel Craig is a more serious version and expected some dark episodes to come. While Casino Royale promised, Quantam of Solace looked bleak to me.
Am sure, back there, its big show time for both Bond and Daniel. Honestly, they suceeded.
Unlike a typical bond movie, this one totally relies on the storyline which I personally felt, had a influence of Nolan.
Characters. Every one of them really given importance. Be it M or Q or MoneyPenny everyone tried to impress us. Love the strong-will acting of Judy Dench.
Movie starts with a typical chasing scene but a very realistic one. Am not sure how many more movies is going to have that Istanbul Bazaar scenes (roof top ones especially). Sotry picks up heat from there and keeps us glued to the screen for the next 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Daniel Craig – in my opinion – a under dog, broke that feeling in this movie. His screen presence is not much, however, when he is there, its intense.
If I dont talk about Javier Bardem, this wont be complete. I loved his acting in Vicky Christina Barcelona. Who can forget No country for old men. And a what a turnover from that. His presence scares even M and shakes the bond little. He is perfect for the role and near the end makes us to ask is he the real villain. 😛
Now the interesting stuff. Bond gals. Am sure yuo will be disappointed if you expect a Halle berry swimsuit style introduction (Or I missed it in Indian version – yes – watched in India. Naomie Harris – her face always reminds me of the Pirates of Carribbean – edition, not sure why. 🙁 She is fresh and energetic. Bérénice Marlohe – is who impresses more with that dark devilish look. Her face is quite like a one you knew. Not sure it is or not.
There were contraversies about Adele singing the title score. Madonna’s die another day is the best ever I would say.
The whole team brought back the hopes of Bond series. This raises the expectation for the next one. Dreamz!
