21st June 2008
It was a weekend. Having a many weekends at home made me to think of some activities so does a pending bukit Timah came into mind. Singapore’s highest altitude infact. A small hilly area.. 😛 thats all.. A nature reserve for all animals and many flora and fauna.. Worth for a weekend walk. Since June proved to be very humid and hot, I didnt want to take chances and last night film show Dasavathaaram made me to start around 4pm. It lies exactly in the western middle of singapore. Its a nice place for a tough walk. It has many circuits for walking and some paths for mountain biking. As per my plan I just took the walking cicuit. When I reached there it was bit dark just because of the dense forest. Still enough light for walking and snaps.
Thenmozhi and myself reached there and bought a Ice cream 😉 and water to start. It proved almost a vertical path walk. Really doesnt matter as it had a lovely concrete route. I have had seen worst ones.. But a board made me feel its worst.. A board read “There are some hizzing snakes around”.. Thats enough for me. Am just accustomed to leeches; not to ANY sort of snakes. Be it the green one or Black mamba.. Just good enough to watch in TV.. no, no to reality.. Am die easy fan for snakes.. 😛
So walked even hard with dripping ice creams; after 30 minutes we reached the peak.. A simple viewless peak. A stone saying the altitude. I tried to take a snap of Monkey, where feeding them is prohibited. But I never knew taking photograph is not really a comfortable one for them. After perfect zoom, auto focus, I manged to click one or two, but for third one I saw its sharp teeth which I didnt focus. It didnt take much time to realize its running towards me showing its teeth.. Man, its been a long time I got a quick “Shit, run.. its time” mood. And escaped.. 😛
After some snaps, took a short cut route to get down. Thats all. We reached down. Next time I will try Mountain bike trail and will send pics. As these are just nature reserve’s pics, I didnt add comments.. Enjoy.. 😀
