As the Jiuzhaigou was single day admission against to my idea of spending two days there, I had to finish the park in one day. And infact I was happy that I get a whole day for Huanglong.

Below is about Huanglong. I will take over after wiki’s explanation.

Huanglong is a scenic and historic interest area in Songpan County in the northwest part of Sichuan, China. It is located in the southern part of the Minshan mountain range, 150 km north-northwest of the capital Chengdu. This area is known for its colorful pools formed by calcite deposits, especially in Huanglonggou (Yellow Dragon Gully), as well as diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, waterfalls and hot springs. Huanglong is also home to many endangered species including the Giant Panda and the Sichuan Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. Huanglong was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992

We took a taxi in the morning and it was a lovely drive for 3 hours each way. Huanglong has 7 degree celcius year around and when we reached there it was so cold. We took Cable car to reach the peak and still we had 4 hours of walk. One hour to reach Multi color pond and rest 3 hours to get down the hill alone. Believe me or not all down hill path is neatly covered by Planks to have a comfortable journey. Still it wont be one as you will be tired much. At the peak and till half way down you will get Oxygen tubes for free (1 yen for your use and throw nosel fix).

It was wonderful moments. Here for you.

Tibetian style Sheraton Hotel. Eve to Hounglong trip

Believe me it was 8pm and we were at dinner. Sun sets around that time only.

On the way to Hounglong

In reality Ice is bit dirtier at the base

On the way

Atlast at Hounglong entrance. So cold.. and heavy wind..

Cable car to reach top

At cable car… Me smart? 😉 I know

From top.. dizzy too..

A lovely View at top.. 😉

The other side from there itself.

Just an hour of journey from here.

Oxygen packs. Just 4000 meters of height, so you wont get that much oxygen really.. 😉

My fav pic.. 😀

See.. I told you..

Tired ma.. still going to top.

Wangiyan Temple..

Well, its Multi colored pong. If you are confused about the color, its sheer deposit of calicum and magnesium at different levels.

From uphill to foot hill, its same like this

Again.. it is at 4000 meters high..

Just the start. It flows all the way down. Its hidden here.

At last getting down.

Hounglong means yellow dragon..It takes 100s of years to form this yellow patch.

Its all so colorful..

It flows like this. Note it does not run

Well, so tired..

Bit lower with water, so not much visible

Atlast got down. This is the entrance

Its just 3pm, but looks?
