Like the other company for city tour, there is this Big bus tour which I booked earlier runs hope on busses every 30 minutes all around the city.
You will be given a map with the bus lines, stops, places. You just get whereever you wish. and getdown whereever you wish.
24 hours tickets validity.
I started.
It was pretty hot.
I started at Wafi city and Raffles thats near the creek end.
Just for the information the place above the river is called Deira and the below is called Bur Dubai (Old Dubai)(where Burj-Al-Arab, Emirates Towers, Burj Dubai, Palm jumeriah islands) are there. Photography is prohibited in Bur Dubai. No women can be taken photograph. Rules apply for Oil bases and important places.
A strict country, but Sharjah is strictest.
Al fahdi Fort was my next destination, a total underground Muesuem. To tell you, from start, Dubai has good impact of India or the cultural similarities. It was reflected everywhere. Just see the pics to get more idea.
Then we passed through Dubai Old Souk (Souk means market), Gold Souk, Abra Station.
From where we got a boat ride in the dubai creek for an hour. It was a not that best experience, still worth doing it once.
After that I got the hop-on bus and that I took the different Blue line (that tours the beech area for 2.5 hours). In the Jumeriah Beach people have individual villas which are very rich and cool looking ones. Atleast a beach facing villa may justify the extreme hot weather of Dubai’s.
There was a stop at Jumeriah beach park which gives a slight view of Burj-Al-Arab worlds tallest and costlist hotel which has a helipad. And I learned the cost for a coffee is 25o dhirams and still without reservation I wont get a chance to enter the hotel.
I wanted to get down but thought of taking a better view at the next stop which didnt happen at all. This hotel doesnt have a view point except the direct entry from another hotel which requires access to get in.
So its covered.
With a little stopover in the Jumeriah hotels (which is in the form of a Wave that cut in between)..
After that to finish the tour the bus has to travel back to wafi city through Sheik Zayed road which has the excellant views of Emirates Tower (tallest in 2004), and Burj
Dubai (Tallest one at the moment surpassing Taipei 101).
Eventhough I exhausted, I was waiting for this and it came. Dusty view still it amazing height. Burj Dubai where Burj means Tower. At the moment it is counting at
160+ floors which has a twirl effect for the Breeze that hugs it. And they have plans to get it till 186 and even more if needed.
Clearly, they got much money much more than they need so they can do these things. Examples..
95% of their water is desalinated and the roadside plants gets water in drip mode.
still they will wipe it every 6 month for a new flower plant cliaming it becomes bush.
Hummer, Pajero, (or any extremely powerful beasts) are known for gutsy people and those who have passion to drive at that speed.
But here, a teenage girl with parda will drive casually. Its not the passion but the cost of petrol at 4.50 Rs per liter. Even I will do the same where I dont have to pay for road tax. Duty free for the vehicle. Wont you do that?
And these lovely Beach projects. Got 20million US$ get an island totally for you in the world map islands. Its for you totally. If you buy you get 15 years visa with that.
Palm Jumeria islands! Lovely project and the architechtural marvels. Extreme engineering.
UAE has Oil for just next 20 years, but they are ready to have a same fame even after that without any issues. They are preparing themselves.
But its not a country of choice for me. After all my preferences are cooler if not a cool country with lovely people around.
If you miss it in your life, leave it.. You really didnt miss a great thing. 🙂 atleast as of now.
